How to play
One island, five resources, a thousand games.
Catan is played on a modular map of hexagonal tiles. Each tile produces a resource and players compete to build the best trading empire. Here it is at a glance.

Build and expand
You start with two settlements and two roads. On each turn, roll the dice, collect resources, and decide: roads, settlements, cities, or development cards?

Trade with everyone
The soul of Catan is bartering. Trade your excess resources with other players or with the bank. Negotiating well is worth more than rolling good dice.

Reach 10 points
Each settlement is worth 1 point, each city 2. Add to that the longest road, the largest army, and victory cards. The first to 10 wins.
