Sitting Bull at KLEFF: How the Board Game Demo Went Down at Kasa Hanaka
Last Saturday, June 20, we had a very special day at Kasa Hanaka: a demonstration session of Sitting Bull, the new family board game from Kokorïn Games dedicated to the figure of Sitting Bull and the daily life of the Lakota people. At KLEFF, we wanted to bring this title closer to our community before its launch, and the result couldn't have been better: full tables, quick games, and a lot of excitement to discover how to play.
If you couldn't join us or want to relive the experience, in this article we tell you what Sitting Bull is, how it's played, and why it's worth keeping an eye on.

A game afternoon at Kasa Hanaka
The Sitting Bull demo brought together players of all profiles, from those looking for a family game to share at home to curious fans interested in new releases from the publisher. We explained the rules in just a few minutes, one of the game's great virtues, and soon the tables were buzzing.
The atmosphere at Kasa Hanaka was perfect: a comfortable space to sit, learn, and enjoy without rush. These sessions are exactly what we love most at KLEFF: setting up the game and letting it speak for itself.
What is Sitting Bull, the Sitting Bull board game
Sitting Bull is a family board game for 2 to 4 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes and rules that are easy to learn but with interesting decisions each turn. Sitting Bull, leader of the Hunkpapa Lakota, is the heart of the game: around his figure, you will place your tribe on the board to create opportunities and advance along the different Paths of Lakota culture.
What we like most about the game is its approach. Instead of falling into common clichés (bison, tipis, and axes), the publisher opted for a respectful and careful treatment of the Lakota people, with elements such as Paths, Powwows, and Offerings. Behind this finish is the work of illustrator Natàlia Romero and graphic designer Dani Medina, based on a design by author Perepau Llistosella.

How to play
The mechanics revolve around the Path cards: Origin, Memory, Silence, and Awakening, with which you place your pawns in the territories on the board. On your turn, the decision is clear yet important: which Path card from your hand do you play? Each choice triggers a chain of consequences throughout the six steps that make up the turn.
A game lasts between 10 and 13 rounds depending on the number of players (more rounds with fewer players), which keeps the duration contained and the pace always lively. It is, in short, an easy game to bring to the table and perfect for both beginners and experienced players.

Part of the Flash-back series
Sitting Bull is the third title in the Flash-back series from Kokorïn Games, after Lunch and Earthrise. It's a collection that uses easily recognizable historical images as a starting point to build accessible games with their own personality around them.
Support Sitting Bull in its crowdfunding campaign
Sitting Bull is currently in a crowdfunding campaign on Verkami, with different rewards and add-ons to get your hands on the game under the best conditions. If the demo left you wanting more, this is the best way to get it and, incidentally, support the publisher and the author.
At KLEFF, we will continue to organize demonstration sessions like this so you can try games before you buy them and discover new ones in good company. Thanks to everyone who stopped by Kasa Hanaka on Saturday, June 20.
